Snapshot USA
Snapshot USA is a nationwide camera trap study coordinated by the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute and North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The project's goal is to facilitate the collaboration of cooperators to contribute to a national database of public wildlife data. First compiled in 2019, our first objective is to examine nationwide trends in mammal community assembly rules associated with natural environmental and anthropogenic filters. We are participating as one of the cooperators for the state of Kansas, collecting data for forested suburban habitats, specifically reclaimed mined lands around Pittsburg, KS.
